  I would like to delete my account.

  For privacy/security reasons (mainly, to protect you and other users), accounts can not be deleted; this prevents people from re-registering an old, deleted username and then pretend they are the original owner.

  You will always have full control over all the data in your account. If you want it to be erased, you can do so by logging into your account and remove all the information that you want deleted from our systems. Additionally, you can change the email address to some throwaway address, so that the account only has your original username, and no other useful information.

  Finally, changing the password to some random string will lock the account even more tightly and renders the account practically useless.
