Delete Account

  Hi. Two years ago, we set up an account under username herbalady but never used it. We have another account that we’re now using for our blog, but would like to be able to access that with the email address used for the herbalady account. How do we delete the account we are not using? – Jen

  Hey there,

  Because you can only deactivate an account and not delete it, and also because you cannot use the same email for two different accounts, what you must do is change the email address on the account you no longer wish to use. This is really simple to do. Detailed instructions can be found on the Deleting Accounts support page under “Reusing email addresses.

  I strongly recommend reading through this support page so as not to lose anything valuable in the process.

  Here’s part of the instructions:

  Log into your current account (the one with the email you want to use).
  Under your Account Settings, change the email address on the account. You can use any active email that you have access to. This will free up the primary email for the new account.
  You’ll receive an email to confirm the change. Click on the confirmation link, and log out of the account by clicking on the Sign Out button in the sidebar of the Me section.
  Sign up for a new account with the primary email address.
  If you already registered the new account, repeat step 2 while logged in to the new account to change the email address on that account too.
