  I want to delete one of my WordPress accounts. When signing up for a new site, I used my primary email address, but something went wrong with the signup and I had to create a new account without my primary email address. I want to delete the account with my primary address so I can use it on the account that I will be using going forward.

  Hi there!

  You are only able to delete your site and all its content. You are not able to delete your account. WordPress keeps your username active to prevent someone from acquiring your username and misrepresenting you.

  If you want to delete your site, you can follow some of the recommended steps:

  1- Empty and delete your site. Consult the following guides:

  – https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
  – https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  2 – Once this is done remove all personal information from your Account Settings and change your password to a random string. This will leave your account inactive and prevent you from gaining access to it in the future.

  3- Unsubscribe from any email notifications from WordPress.com, go to your subscription settings and check the box that says Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com.
