  Hello @covertwarvictim,

  I’m sorry, but unfortunately WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted permanently once created. But if you still wish to deactivate your account and leave WordPress, then follow these instructions below.

  You’ll first need to delete your site:

  Delete a Website

  Once your sites are all deleted, then follow these steps:

  #1 Go to My Account > Edit Profile at https://wordpress.com/me/account and remove all the data except the username and email address. Now replace only the email address with a throwaway email address. Do not change the username, this will keep the username from being re-used.

  #2 Now change your account password to a strong one. You can use this simple password generator tool by LastPass: https://lastpass.com/generatepassword.php
  This is done to ensure that your account is locked up tightly.

  #3 When you login to Gravatar, you will find a hide button on the bottom right corner of your Gravatar Profile page. Click that.

  #4 To stop receiving emails from WordPress, go here: https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/ and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”.

  Please do take note – even if you deactivate your account your username is not removed from the database, so that it’s not available to any other users when they are registering for a new account. This is done to keep you from being impersonated by anyone else.
