  Hi there,

  There is no way to delete a WordPress account once created.
  You can instead leave your account inactive by following this:

  1) Delete Site linked to your account
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
  Note:
  Once you delete your site you can’t have the same domain name. Read the link below before doing so.
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
  You can instead empty your site
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

  2) Change your password to random string and leave the account inactive.

  3) Change email address under Account Settings. This will help in creating another WordPress account in future with same email id as every WordPress account is linked to unique email id.

  There aren’t any sites on this account, so @melanntho if you’ll use the steps recommended (removing your data, then removing your email address with a temporary one) you’ll be set. Just note we would not be able to give the name back to you.
