  Hello there, currently it is only possible to delete an account by following the guide you mentioned at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-deactivation/

  The new email address doesn’t have to be a throwaway address, just one not linked to your current or any other WordPress account. If your email provider allows you to use aliases, that could provide a solution.
