  I’m having trouble receiving the “delete account” email after clicking the delete link on my profile. I’d appreciate a response some time soon.

  Hi there. It’s not possible to delete WordPress.com accounts and there’s no place where you can click a link to do that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

  Did you perhaps mean the Delete Blog option under Tools in the dashboard?

  If you didn’t get the confirmation email, please check your email’s spam/junk folder, and also the Social tab if you use Gmail. You might also want to check your account settings and make sure that the correct email address is registered there.

  Keep in mind that if you go through with deleting the blog, both the content AND the URL will be gone forever, so there will no way for even you to ever get it back again. Consider rather just setting the blog to private. That way no one can access it, but it will still be there if you later change your mind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  You should now receive the confirmation email. Please let me know if you have any additional trouble though!

  I have done this several times, as well as try to hide my blog to no prevail. I would appreciate it if you could fix this issue, instead of send me a hyperlink to the support page on something i have already done. I also tried hiding the blog, and it still comes up on Google. I dont care if it’s hidden or deleted, i just want it off Google’s search engine.

  Hi Frank,

  I went ahead and deactivate the site for you. It will eventually be removed from search engines once they index your site and find out the site has been taken down. Please let me know if you need anything else!
