    You can retain the domain URL, and get a refund for the remainder of the upgrade, and then move your content into a wordpress.ORG install.

    Know that if you cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it so if you want to keep it and use it on another site please let Staff know that.

    You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel an upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew.

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades.     Hi there,

    Are you speaking of the domain, thewordsofasleeplessnight.com ?

    If so, please read what @timethief wrote above: If you cancel the domain you give up ownership of it, and you might not be able to ever register it again somewhere else. Only cancel a domain if you are certain you will never want to use it again.

    Please confirm if you want me to cancel that domain for you.
