Delete Account – automatic redirect to actual host?

Hi, I am working on this blog and we are having a few problems with installing and configuring plugins. Since I am not allowed to do that on wordpress.com, I decided to get webspace on the site where the domain is registred, install wordpress and redirect to their space. But I discovered that wordpress.com claims all rights to keep the site directing to the blog on wordpress.com and only allows to do otherwise when we book another upgrade for 13/year. If we would now delete the account on wordpress.com would the redirect be done automatically? Since the blog should not exist anymore on your site, but on the site of the other host.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

We don’t claim any rights on your site or on your domain. If your domain is still redirecting here it’s because the name servers or A-records are still pointed to us. You need to change that with the registrar where you bought the domain to point to your new host.

Additionally, if you’re going to be using a self-hosted site I recommend you cancel the Premium Plan you bought from us, as that upgrade can’t be used with a self-hosted site. You can cancel the plan for a full refund from the Purchases page:
