Delete Account & Premium Theme
-
Hi Team WordPress.com,
we already switched to the self-hosted wordpress version. Please delete our account, site and all premium content (basis theme).
We can’t do it on our own, due to ‘You have active premium upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting your site.’
Thanks for your confirmation when done.

Hello @marktguru,
You have to first remove these upgrades(if you have them) first before deleting the site:
• Premium or Business Plan
• Custom Domain
• Domain Mapping
• Premium ThemeMore information about deleting sites with upgrades can be found here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#deleting-a-site-with-upgradesIf you want to cancel a plan or cancel a domain, then read the instructions given in this support documents:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/faq-renewing-and-canceling/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/faq-renewing-and-canceling/#canceling-your-plans-and-domains
https://en.support.wordpress.com/cancel-domain/NOTE: WordPress.COM has a 30-day refund policy on all their paid plans, except for Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. The refund period for Guided Transfers ends 30 days after purchase or as soon as your site has been moved, whichever comes first.
You can still cancel your plans after 30-days but you wont we refunded for your cancellation so it is suggested that you stay on the plan and let it expire.
Read more about refunds here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/
You can cancel your plans from the manage purchases section. Read more about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/.
If you have a premium theme applied to the site that you are trying to delete, you will have to get help from the staff if you wish to remove the premium theme. If you do not want to remove the premium theme then you can transfer the theme to another site of your WordPress.COM account.
To get staff assistance in removing the theme, you can tag this question with the modlook tag, so that it gets the staff’s attention.
If you wish to reach the moderator staff directly for your future questions, just add the modlook tag in the Tags section.
Read about the modlook tag here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hi @marktguru!
I’ll walk you through the steps of unsubscribing to your upgrade, emptying and deleting your site, and locking down your account. It’s important to note that since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled).
You can cancel your theme in Manage Purchases, instructions here:
Next, you’ll want to empty your site:
And then, delete the site following the guide on this page:
Please be aware that this is irreversible!
Now you just have the username/ account left to deal with. As I said before we do not delete usernames, but you can lock the account down if you don’t intend to use it. But you may want to retain your account if you wish to use Jetpack in the future.
For more information on locking down your account, please see this link below:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
Here’s a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:
1) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on â”Block Emails”:
https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions
2) You can also go here to remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind:
https://wordpress.com/me/account/
https://wordpress.com/me/profile3) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html
4) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:
http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you
You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
Please note that while your information will no longer be associated with an active WordPress.com or Gravatar account, a record of your information still exists on our servers from the date you originally signed up.
I hope this helps.
