Delete all posts, comments and media items.

  How do I go about deleting all the posts, comment and media items? We are in the process of migrating from an old blog solution to word press and we had migrated some data for testing. Now we want to do a complete migration. Before we do that we would like to delete all the content and do a complete migration.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Are you referring to the site you’ve linked to blog.education.nationalgeographic.com

  I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance because you have quite a lot of content there, but please do confirm that it is the site above because once it’s deleted, it cannot be easily recovered.

  But not Pages, tags, categories, custom menu? Sorry, need to ask.

  Yes do not delete pages, tags, categories, custom menus.

  Even though you have quite a bit of content, I’m going to suggest that you proceed to bulk delete the items you want removed since you only want certain items deleted and not empty the site of content entirely.

  To make this easier, you can increase the number of visible items (posts, comments and media) by clicking on the Screen options in the upper right corner on each of the associated pages in your Dashboard (Posts>All Posts, Comments, Media Library) and increasing the number of visible items.

  Then you can follow these directions provided by timethief, another forum volunteer:

  And bulk deleting comments works the same way, even though there doesn’t seem to be a support entry for it.
