delete an obsolete account without affecting my other

Hi, thank you so much for helping me with this.
Last week I became an active WordPress fan again, thanks to Joshua Bridge.
I have two WordPress blogs, which I have not used for years. The most important is connected to my own site ZICHT.com behind the URL blog.zicht.com.
The other is known as https://arboretumantwerpen.wordpress.com/
That one never got beyond the embryonic phase. So I want to kill it and I want get rid of alle related pointers.
And this is where I need your help.
I just logged in with my WordPress identity at Gravatar and updated my profile.
But as a result of that I now go by the unwanted name ‘Harry van der Velde
    @arboretumberichten’
    How do I change that?
    And secondly:
    Can I just delete https://arboretumantwerpen.wordpress.com/
without hurting my WordPress blog behind blog.zicht.com?

Thank you for this community. I hope to escape from the suction of Facebook and Google etc…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ah, the email confirming this forumpost gave me acces toe the first question.
I could change the unwanted name ‘Harry van der Velde @arboretumberichten’ into “Harry van der Velde @harryzicht” after clicking my new Gravatar pic in the top right hand corner of my screen. It gave access to my account settings.
Cool. One down, one more to go. Learning… ;-)

OK. via My sites I found how to delete the unwanted arboretumberichten.
Good. Now how to make my blog mu primary site?

  • Hi there,

You’re logged in as the username account, harryzicht. This account only owns one site, http://tammyleameyer.wordpress.com.

The arboretumberichten username account was permanently disabled when you changed it to harryzicht, so that username no longer exists.

The site, https://arboretumantwerpen.wordpress.com/, belonged to this account, but you deleted that as well, so that site no longer exists either.

So I’m not entirely clear on what you still want to delete. Where exactly are you still seeing a reference to the arboretumberichten username?

The site at http://blog.zicht.com/ has nothing at all to do with WordPress.com. That site was built using the open source WordPress software, and hosted with another provider, https://www.gandi.net/. That site has no connection to your WordPress.com account, and to change the username on that site you’ll need to make changes directly in WP-Admin.

You can find a tutorial for changing your username on that site here:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-change-your-wordpress-username/

If you want to use this account to manage that site, you can link it to your account via the Jetpack plugin, but to do that you’ll first need to log into WP-Admin directly on that site.
