  While you are waiting you could set the blog to private. To change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings

  Hi there! It looks like you’re trying to update your email address. The confirmation email will go to the new address. Make sure you check your spam folder.

  Let me know if you’re still not getting that email.
