  I would like to be able to download all that I have written and delete the blog in its entirety. How can I go about doing that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I would like to be able to download all that I have written

  Do not delete the site until you are sure that you have an uncorrupted XML export file of the content.

  Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

  You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to Tools.

  The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

  http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  * You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.

  Dashboard > Tools > Export

  Deleting a site is a permanent act. If and only if the content has been indexed by Google the blogger may be able to locate it in Google’s cache or the waybackmachine and copy and paste post by post and page by page.

  I always advise making the blog privates opposed to deleting it so the content is not lost.

  To delete a WordPress.COM hosted blog you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site. The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made except for the one stated here http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Alternatively, to change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings

  Yes, I realized this. I am not sure why he asked before he had deleted it.
