Delete Blog and Account

  There’s no ‘delete’ option for my account or my blog. It’s simply missing where the support files tell me it should be. Please delete my account and blog for me.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m sorry to hear you want to leave WordPress.com! Is there anything you may need help with before you go? WordPress.com accounts are permanent, but you can easily delete your blog. You can read more about this here:

  I followed these instructions already, but there is no “delete blog” option sin my tools as displayed in teh instruction… Please delte the blog for me!

  It seems you’re not the blog owner of that blog, but an ‘Author’ instead. Only the blog owner (gourmetbusters) can delete a blog. Please log into the right account of contact the blog owner to remove the blog.

  Hi Lagourmista,

  I’m not sure how far you have gone in the delete process. I just deleted one of mine this morning. It does take a good few steps:

  First you hvae to go to >Tools in the right hand nav column.
  Then select > delete site from the drop down under this option.
  Next you should be presented with a main content area for deleting the site.

  It encourages you to pick the reason for wanting to delete. Only one of these is the actual delete site and contents choice. The others assume you want to do something less severe (protecting users from going too far when they don’t want to). Once you pick the permanent delete site and contents you have to go to your e-mail account and follow the link in the confirmation e-mail to confirm. As far as I am aware you are the only one who can do all of this (privacy protection etc).

  If you are still problems perhaps post exactly which step is missing or you are having trouble with.
