Delete Blog or Make Private

    I understand we can’t delete or deactivate WP accounts. What I really want to do is have a new URL name to go with my blog name but was told the URL can’t be changed.

    So, how do I start all over so I can get a URL to match a new blog name? If this can’t be done, I need to make my current blog private or delete it.

    Thoughts?

    Hi Kat – You can change your URL by following these instructions:
    Changing a Blog Address

    What you cannot do is change your custom domain, whisperreflections.com, since the name itself is what you registered. But you can register a new domain and set it as primary on your blog, so that it displays instead of the old:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/#instructions-for-registering-a-new-domain-for-your-blog

    I can cancel domain whisperreflections.com for you entirely if you want, but please note that if you cancel it, there’s no guarantee it will become available to register again. If you want to use it with another site (not at WordPress.com), you should transfer it rather than cancel it.

    Also, since we can only refund them for the first 48 hours after registration, you might as well keep it until it expires and have it redirect to the new one. :)
