Delete cache file
-
Could you please delete the cache to my WordPress (effieophelders.wordpress.com)?
I have removed a file that is unfortunately still accessible through the URL.
Thanks in advance,

Hi there,
The WordPress.com team always takes care of clearing cache automatically for your WordPress.com site.
But I will still tag this post for staff by adding modlook to this thread, so they would help you with this. Can you please tell us what you’ve removed and it’s still showing?
To assist you further with this. Thanks!

Hi there,
Can you please provide the URL for the specific file that you are still able to access? Then we can check and make sure that file has been removed from our servers. But clearing your site cache will not do that.

[redacted] (the author asked me not to post the link or I would have included it in my original post)

Hi @ineffieciency, that link is now coming up and 404 – file not found for me. Clear your browser cache and then try to load that link to verify, but I think there was probably a delete between when you posted and when I just checked, so the file is gone.

Thank you for checking. Unfortunately, however, I can still open and read the file, after I have cleared all browser cache. Any idea what’s going on? I access it directly through the URL, not through Google (I already went through the steps with Google, and they have deleted it from their cache, so it’s not searchable anymore).

I have, and even a different computer. Somehow I can still open it. I’ve read that files are held in multiple caches. Is it possible that one is still holding on, and this is why some devices still have access and some don’t?

I haven’t tried in another device, I can certainly do that in a little bit in Chrome from my android phone on mobile data. (Just did and it comes up a 404 there as well.)
Have you also tried from another location after clearing your cache or restarting your router (if possible)?
