delete categories

  i’m tryng to delete the categories shown under the home page…

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi –

  You will need to access your WP-Admin dashboard in order to bulk delete categories from your blog. Here’s how you do it:

  Where is the option to delete categories?

  The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

  http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  * You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.

  1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.

  2. To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to Dashboard → Posts → Categories

  Thank you for providing me with those links.
  I do not know why I was unable able to locate that dashboard link.

  I was able to delete all but one category.
  Is it possible to delete “uncategorized category?”

  I do not think you can delete “uncategorized category” from your blog. You can change the name of it, to something generic, like “general blogging” or “blog posts”… Here’s the link: https://atthistime.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category Hover over the category, and select ‘edit’, then you can edit the title of the category.

  You can create a new category and set that as your default cateogy:
