Delete "Category Archives:…"

hi @thesacredpath – i’m using the Adelle theme and also having the same issue trying to remove “category archive” from the header. I tried using the CSS you posted above but it didn’t work. Let me know if you have any advice.
The blog I’m trying to adjust is http://www.harponlife.com
Thanks!

Hi @harponlifeerika, since you are using a different theme, and since CSS is generally theme specific, can I ask you to create a new thread in the CSS Forum and I’ll watch for it and help you out. Many thanks in advance.
-
@harponlifeerika, I just took a look at your site and see you have gotten this taken care of in your theme. Great job!
-
Hi @thesacredpath, thank you for the very quick reply! After some further research I did find the right code to remove it. I do have a few more questions though if you don’t mind. I’ll start a new thread.

Hi!
Now I’m sure I should have learned CCS programming. :-(
Can anyone help me, in the CCS, with inserting the copyright “C” and some words on my blog? Thanks!
-
Hi @stpierrekouame,
You can either use
©
or
©
To display copyright symbol on the webpage.Kind Regards,
Vinod Dalvi -
Hi @stpierrekouame,
I had entered entity name and number of copyright symbol in my previous reply but it is converted in the actual copyright symbol automatically so i suggest you to check it on the following page.

Hi @vinoddalvi
Yeah, I’ve seen the symbols, but I do not know the right CCS code to display it on the blog. -
Hi @stpierrekouame,
Have you tried using entity name (
<pre>®</pre>) or number (<pre>® </pre>) of copyright symbol displayed on the following page?http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_entities.asp
Regards,
Vinod Dalvi -
Hi @vinoddalvi
What I wanted was the entire code to replace the footer “the mysthique theme…” by my copyright declaration. I could not do it, so I’ve removed the footer “the mystique theme…” and inserted as text my copyright declaration. It works too. But I would be glad to be able to have the code I wanted first.
Best regards,
St Pierre

@st Pierre, the WordPress and theme credits in the footer have to remain visible in the footer of WordPress.com sites per the Terms of Service (#11). You will need to remove the CSS you used to hide it.
The following CSS will add a copyright above the existing footer credits for you. I included font color, size and weight declarations in case you desire to style it differently so it is more visible. Any you do not use can be deleted.
#footer #copyright:before { content: "©2014 Orastones.com. 'Ora Stones Review' is the title of Orastones.com, All Rights Reserved."; font-size: 110%; font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000; } -
Hi @thesacredpath,
Sorry for the WordPress and theme credits, I thought that with the Custom Design I had the rights to remove them. By the way, is there any way I can have such rights?
The code works properly.Thanks again,
Best regards. -
I think it would be nicier if I could at least remove the theme credit. I find it more professional without the theme credit :-)
-
No, there is no upgrade to remove the footer credits. Even our VIP sites have to keep the footer credits.
You have to be careful with changing the styling on the footer credits, but perhaps see what you think with this, which lightens them up a little bit.
#copyright a { color: #6699bb; } -
Ok, I’ve got it :-)
Yeah, it’s better with the last code.
Thanks, I appreciate your help.
Best regards,St Pierre
