Delete domain mapping for deleted site

  Before deciding on Squarespace, I thought I’d try WordPress so I paid for domain mapping. Now that I don’t need it anymore, I thought I could delete my site and then my domain URL would link to Squarespace since it’s set up correctly on there. After about a day, it still isn’t working and my website is still showing up on WordPress. How can I get it so that when you type in my site (alexalbers.com) it goes to my new Squarespace site?

  alexalbersdotcom.wordpress.com was the site I tried to delete but it’s still linked with my account.
