Delete domainname from wordpress.com

Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
I want to delete my domainname brendakookt.nl from my wordpress account brendakookt.wordpress.com.This because I started own hosting, so I don’t want to use wordpres.com anymore, using wordpress.org now.

Hi Brenda, I see that you’ve pointed the nameservers of your domain name brendakookt.nl to your new host. You can continue doing just that, keeping your domain name with us and using another hosting provider. Or, if you no longer wish to keep your domain name with us, you can transfer it to another registrar using this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

PS – if you were using domain mapping to your domain name you should make sure that you don’t have Auto Renew enabled on the mapping so you don’t get charged for a renewal that you are not using

I have a “moving message” on my wordpress.com account. In about a month I will delete this blog. -
You are welcome! And a note, you don’t have to delete it if you think you’ll ever want to use the address again. You can set your WordPress.com blog as private under Settings > Privacy.

Just leave the “Moving” message forever – the old links to your site will live in some search engines and other places they were posted (maybe a forum or comments you made on other web sites) in some cases forever – not having people hit a “this blog has been deleted” will help your traffic a bit
