delete duplicate wordpress account
-
How do I delete a wordpress account. I am creating a blog and have discovered that I have an old wordpress account from several years ago. Since it uses the same domain name, it’s getting confused with the new account I just created.

Good evening davidperasso!
If you could, please let us know what domain(s) are causing you this difficulty so we can look into it. I tried davidperasso.wordpress.com but it doesn’t exist.dave

Here’s the situation.
3 years ago I had a blog at http://www.davidperasso.net/rbufw_blog That URL no longer exists. My wordpress account username for that blog was (email visible only to moderators and staff). I want to delete that account, but since accessing that URL produces a 404 error, I can’t get to the tools menu to delete it (or at least that is what it seems like).
In the past few days I have been building a new blog at http://www.davidperasso.net/wp When I tried to add jetpack, it asked me to log in to my wordpress account, which is when I discovered the earlier account.
I have not been able to link the new site to the old account, so I created a new account with the user name dp (email address (email visible only to moderators and staff)). The new site and the new account seem to work fine, but I would like to delete the old wordpress account.
the result I want is to delete the account with the user name (email visible only to moderators and staff) and to keep the account with the user name (email visible only to moderators and staff).
Does that explain it?
thanks!!!

Ok i believe i am beginning to see
A 404 error means File not found. Your old blog is no more. The “rbufw_blog” of http://www.davidperasso.net/rbufw_blog tells a web browser to look in the rbufw_blog folder of the hosting web server for the files that make up the blog. Since that no longer exists (did you change web hosts {ISP} perhaps?) the file(s) will not be found. There is no tools menu to access. Since you are able to get in with that email address you still have the WordPress account access.
I looked up your domain name and came up with this:
Domain Name: DAVIDPERASSO.NET
Registrar: FASTDOMAIN, INC.
Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 1154
Whois Server: whois.fastdomain.com
Referral URL: http://www.fastdomain.com
Name Server: NS129.EHOSTS.COM
Name Server: NS130.EHOSTS.COM
Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 08-mar-2016
Creation Date: 06-may-2011
Expiration Date: 06-may-2017In itself this is not a problem. But your blog is hosted somewhere other than WordPress. There is a whole other set of forums at WordPress.ORG that provide support for WordPress hosted at other ISPs. A frequent contributor to the forums @Timethief has a good explanation:
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
So the login you have for your new WordPress account should suffice to get Jetpack going provided it is a login for WordPress.ORG.
Jetpack isn’t supported here either https://jetpack.com/support/ is THE place for that.
I know this sounds all complicated, i hope i understood what you wanted, and that i was able to explain what goes where and at least got you rolling in the right direction.
Best,

both accounts are on wordpress.com. Just two different email addresses, so two different accounts.
I think what happened is that when I deleted the rbufw_blog, I wasn’t able to delete the WP account (or maybe I didn’t know I was supposed to). And when I created this new blog, I didn’t do it from the wordpress site, I did it from my ISP’s site.
As for jetpack and my current blog, everything is OK. jetpack is working, the new wordpress account is working, the blog is working.
at this point all I want to do is delete the old wordpress account, the one that is linked to the now non-existend rbufw_blog. Is there a way I can do that? or can you do it for me?
clearly the rbufw_blog no longer exists. Though the domain exists, there is no directory rbufw_blog nor is there a wordpress blog there.
