  Yes I know (image “lu-cover.jpg”). So? You previously wrote (emphasis mine):

  I believe I accidentally uploaded the PDF to my media library, then inserted it mistakenly into a post. However, I never published the post and immediately deleted the PDF from my media library.

  I composed a post. Uploaded the PDF to media library and inserted into the post. Never published it. Then I deleted pdf from the post, deleted it from media library, uploaded jpg to media, inserted into post, and published.

  Want to tell me how the PDF got online and indexed in Google? Thanks.

  Sure: it got online and indexed because you published it.

  Your latest version is: uploaded file, inserted into post, deleted file etc, published post.
  Previous version was: uploaded file, inserted into post, never published post.
  First version was: “I’m absolutely sure I didn’t upload this file to my blog”.
  So I’m becoming absolutely sure you don’t remember what you did or you don’t want to admit it. Your changing the story each time you’re presented with a fact makes the latest version even more unlikely than it would be by itself.

  For a more convincing reply you can wait till a staff member examines your blog and tells you what really happened.

  Yes, the post was online, with the pdf. Further discussion on this issue is pointless among us volunteers. I’ll leave the modlook in case staff has anything to add but close this topic now.
