    Your functionality is poor and unnecessarily complicated. I will use another provider.

    You have hidden well the delete account feature, not surprisingly. That is technically NOT legal. You are required by the privacy act of 1996 to make it reasonably easy for me to delete my account.

    WHERE IS the command?

    It is NOT LEGAL to NOT ALLOW me to delete my account and I will file papers in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina to form a Federal class against you under the privacy act and related laws if you stand by that HORSE SHIT you wrote about how accounts cannot be deleted.

    I am a retired attorney. I cause trouble for companies that lie and manipulate data like you do as a hobby. Ask Mark Zuckerberg how much money I have cost him.

    Firstly you can already remove any data that references you (change personal details, delete blogs and if you really want change email to a disposable address).

    Secondly companies have no legal obligation to delete all your data; in fact in some circumstances they are legally obliged to retain it for a time period.

    Well actually although MISTER ALL CAPS here appears hysterical, he does have a point. US law says that accounts must be deletable. But then it also says the NSA can’t spy on its own citizens.

    I don’t think so. From what research I have done the “right to be forgotten” is more advanced in Europe, and even then only applies to data that can be linked to an individual.

    All you were required to provide to register an account was an email address and it can be replaced at any time.

    Although username accounts are not deleted, so you cannot be impersonated and have your reputation affected by anyone registering the same username in the future, there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

    1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.

    2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:

    3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
