    I’d love to. And I promise you, I tried to “act” for a good half an hour before posting this.

    Email address cannot be left blank. Changing it to a fake email address requires verification at the fake email address. (Also, a little baffled as to why an org so big would require users to change their email address to something fake to delete their account, unless you’re trying to reduce churn numbers in a really unethical way.)

    I don’t have a blog. I used Gravatar for years, and one day when I tried to log in to change my avatar image, I was required to create a WordPress account. And then, surprise, I wound up on a WordPress mailing list that has no unsubscribe link. Again, unethical.

    Re: I would like my account permanently removed and my email address permanently removed from your lists (and future lists).

    No answer to this, and the thread was closed. AGAIN. UNETHICAL.

    Hi there,

    Sorry about the other thread being closed. That was done due to another user who was being abusive to volunteers and staff in several threads.

    Our advice here is to create a throwaway email with a free webmail service like Yahoo, and then delete it once you’ve changed your account email address. The reason it has to be done this way is because it’s literally impossible to delete an account entirely on WordPress.com. Our system does not allow it.

    And then, surprise, I wound up on a WordPress mailing list that has no unsubscribe link.
