Delete my account

  Hello. I have tried following the guidelines to deleting my account and website on wordpress. I had no updates but removed my site which is good. However my account is still active. All the guides I look at say the same thing and I am unable to delete my profile.

  Hello,

  WordPress.COM accounts cannot be deleted to keep anyone from registering the same username in the future.

  You can deactivate your account by doing the following:

  1. Go to My Account->Edit Profile, remove all of your data aside from the account name and an email address.

  2. Next, create a new email address to use for the account (one that you won’t use for anything else) and update the account to that email address.

  3. Finally, visit http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html and generate a password between 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it.
