Delete my current WordPress.com site…

  I am requesting that you delete my site if that is necessary. I am trying to move to WordPress.org because I need specific plugins (such as Jetpack) and I am changing hosting to Bluhost which has the one-click integration of wordpress.org (I think?)

  If you have a better alternative…I am not very good with how to build a website yet and am still learning WP…I have very specific instructions from someone who is teaching me how to build a website using WP…but I keep running into all sorts of techinical issues with WP.com. However, I can’t download WP.org manually….having errors…super confusing to me. :(

  Hi Amber,

  What specifically in Jetpack did you need? Jetpack is a plugin that we (at WordPress.com) make to give the features of WordPress.com that aren’t included in the “core” WordPress.org software to people on other hosts, like Bluehost.

  Bluehost does have a one-click install of WordPress.org. WordPress.org is the free software that you can use anywhere, as opposed to WordPress.com which is a hosted version (built on the same WordPress.org software) that takes care of the technical side for you. (more about the difference at WordPress.com and WordPress.org).

  You don’t need to delete your WordPress.com site for any of this though. Once you’re done with the process, you’ll likely want to cancel and get refunded your domain mapping upgrade if you’ll use Bluehost for hosting.   It is called an Image Widget I guess….perhaps the instructions at this link will let you see what exactly I need.

  Those features are already built in to WordPress.com. You can visit your Widgets page ( https://ajgirl79.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php ) and add the “Image” widget.
