There are multiple things you can do, depending on what you would like to achieve. Important to know that some steps cannot be undone after a certain time period.
You can Permanently Delete Your Site:
– Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
– This steps also removes every posts, purchases, media.

– If you want a fresh start on your WordPress.com site, you can delete all of your content from your site and still keep your current WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
– The biggest difference is that you won’t loose you domain.

– After marking your site as private, visitors will see a “Private Site” page if they’re not logged into their WordPress.com account they created when you invited them as a Viewer.
