delete my domain from WordPress
-
I delete my domain from my WordPress site so I can update on my website account. I thought I didn’t need to run from bluehost. after I delete the domain form WordPress can’t pull up my site from WordPress. how do I fix?
-
Hello there. I’m trying to understand your exact problem, so bear with me. Did you have your domain listed under the Domains section on the menu, but then deleted it from there and are now unable to access your blog from your domain?
-
Yes that is correct. I deleted the domain from the domain section menu and now I can’t access my blog account. my blog account is hosted by bluehost but registered through WordPress’s.
-
I did a little bit more research, so my question is; how do I re-map my domain to a different WordPress account.
-
-
I did that and I get this message;
“This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.”
-
Ok, I see. From what I’ve read, you’ll need to log in as the that had the domain mapped to a WordPress site and cancel the mapping upgrade. It sounds like you did that part, right?
Then I found:
There is a two-week waiting period before another username can map a recently-cancelled domain.
I believe a WordPress agent would be able to do this for you manually however.
-
ah sweet! when can an agent re-map my domain.
this my new account.

I think you could get that mapped pretty quickly, with any luck. I’d head over to https://en.support.wordpress.com/ and scroll down a little and click Get Help. That should get you chatting to an agent. You could probably give them a link to this thread so you don’t need to explain your issue again. Good luck!

Hi there,
You cancelled your domain. That means you gave up ownership of your domain. Remapping it to a different site won’t help, because you don’t own the domain any more.
Luckily I was still able to restore the domain for you, and I’ve connected it to the other site in your account so you can access its settings.
If you want to use that domain with Bluehost, you can see the options for pointing or transferring it to them here:

Thanks for helping out. However, just a few things:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/ is the home page for our docs section. It is not a link to contact staff. The link to contact staff is https://wordpress.com/help/contact, but unless someone has an active upgrade in their account that contact form will just direct them back here to the forums, so it’s not helpful at all to point people there if they’re already posting in the forums, as that’s most likely where they came from to start with.
I suggest you take some time to familiarise yourself with the docs appearing at https://en.support.wordpress.com/, and in particular this one that explains how the forums work, and how to get staff attention on a forum thread:

Omg ! I have no idea what I was doing when I deleted the account. Thank you so much you are a life saver !!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I have my domain back and it’s working again. THANKS YOU AGAIN!!
-
You’re very welcome. I’m glad I could help.
Let me know if you have any trouble pointing the domain to Bluehost from My Site ->Domains.
-
Thanks for the link kokkieh! I was under the impression that the contact page had a live chat. I’ll look over the documents. Thanks again
-
The contact page does have live chat, for users who own plans. Users who don’t own plans get routed to the forum. If you see the “wpcomhelp” tag on a thread, that means it was created via the contact form.
