Delete my site

I am trying to delete my site but I am unable to do so and I am not sure why. It says I need to contact support. I just want to delete the site. There are not outstanding payments. Please let me know what I need to do

You cannot delete that site, because it used to be on our Business Plan and has not been properly downgraded to the free plan since the plan expired. This downgrading process can lead to content on the site being lost, and we can only do it at the request of the site owner, who is a different account from the one you’re using to post here.
Please comment here as the account that owns the site, and used to own the Business Plan, and confirm if you want us to downgrade that site.
Or if the other account belongs to someone else, confirm if you just want us to remove your account as a user on that site instead, which will stop the site from appearing in your account.

That is the site I am referencing. I was made an admin yesterday. I am now the owner and marketing coordinator for ProFitness, which has recently changed ownership. I want our plan downgraded to free so we can delete this site. I do not want to have my account removed, I want this site deleted. Thank you.

Your account is not the owner of that site, so I cannot take these actions at your request. Even if you now own the business, and have been made an admin on the site, the site belongs to the WordPress.com username that originally created it, and we’ll need that username to confirm before we can revert the site back to the free plan.
Please ask that person to comment on this thread and confirm they understand that reverting the site will lead to all content created since plugins were first installed on the site being lost, and we can start that process for you. Once the site is reverted, any admin on the site will be able to delete it.

Who is the owner of that account?
No doubt whoever had the ability to add you as an Admin to the site?
