Delete old blog with no contactable admins
-
Hi there. I am the owner – producer – of a film some years ago. A few years ago one of my associates set up a blog as a test project for their students, however it has nothing to do with the official film nor my production company. In fact all the information is now out of date. I am pretty sure the admin of this blog is impossible to find but I would really like it removed as it violates my IP – obviously I have tried to contact the admins first however I don’t think there will be a reply. Any ideas what I can do to get the site taken down by WordPress
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. Thanks for your reply – this is not the site I need help with – that is my site however I needed to login to write a message here and needed to log in – it was WordPress that ended my message like that – not helpful really. The site I actually need help with is this:
-
ohh I am sorry, my bad, I should have confirmed the blog.
As we know you are not admin and site admins are not responding to your mails or messages so it will be best to let the staff know this and help you out in this case.

Thank you – I’m wondering if you would know how to contact the WordPress staff that could help out with this?
thanks again for your help

@sachintawade has added the word modlook to the tag box on the right. This will alert a member of staff to respond to this thread in due course. Note that it is highly unlikely that they will be willing to delete a site that you can’t prove that you are the owner of. I think you should redouble your efforts to contact the person who owns/created the site.
You need to be logged in to the site as the owner/admin to follow these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ -
Thank you. I hope the WP staff will have more resources than I to either contact the owner of that site or to take further action. It is highly likely surely that the owner’s email address no longer works and is in effect non-existent. Without getting all legal the whole site is contravening copyright and IP issues – I am sure if this was a big film company, they would have no problem in getting it removed.
Thanks again for your help

@slackalicefilms66 have you tried contacting the site owner? You could do that by just leaving a comment on the site. An email will be sent to the site owner and you can get in touch with them that way. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the email actually comes back to one of your own accounts.
If it does, you can reset the password, log in, and update the site as needed, redirect to a new site, or take it down. That would be the simplest method.
If that doesn’t work, we do have a DMCA process you can use to get in touch with the site owner.

Hi supernovia – great name and great to get a member of staff involved – thank you. I’ve left a comment and it is waiting moderation, which I suspect won’t happen as I suspect the admin no longer exists. The story of this blog is that it was set-up by a group of students for a project that is long finished doing a kind of dummy promotion for the film – none of it was official but we allowed them to do it out of goodwill. All those students, including the admins who set it up have disappeared without trace and I am fairly sure that whoever is listed as the admin no longer has access to that email address. I’d really like to get the whole site just removed as it is no longer relevant. Our actual website is here. http://www.tantrictourists.com
Thank you

If the site in question violates your intellectual property and you’re unable to contact the owners otherwise, you can found our DMCA process here:
But we cannot remove content from a site or take a site offline otherwise.
