Delete old gravatar and my proof of ownership

  • Unknown's avatar

I have an email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to my old email address. Subj: WordPress.com Privacy Policy Updates; dated Dec. 18, 2017. It clearly lists three WordPress blogs/sites I had at the time.

It’s not so much that I want to recover my blogs – I deleted them long ago. I want to delete the gravatar associated with my old email address so it stops popping up unexpectedly. (At the time, one could manage their gravatar separately, but apparently no more.)

I will be happy to forward this email to you if you give me the applicable support address. It is not an image or PDF of the email. It is not a forwarded copy. It is the email itself, directly from Automattic, with all the underlying header data. It’s the only thing I can find that proves my ownership of these blogs and this gmail address.

    Please help!

  • Hi Dawn,

You need to contact the account recovery team to see if there is a way for you to prove ownership of the WordPress.com account associated with the Gravatar account.

Depending on the case, they might also be able to hide or delete the Gravatar profile image.

You can contact the Account Recovery team by sending a message to [email protected]

Please include all the info and details that you can provide on your issue.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the tip and email address. I sent a detailed message to that address on Feb. 1. Do you know how long it usually takes to get a response?
