Delete one of two sites
-
I am just starting. I want to have one blog that I update with short entries periodically. I inadvertently created two parallel sites or pages when I only want one. How do I get rid of one of them?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you, raincoaster, but I’m not sure why you would be asking that question. I was trying to figure out how I manage my blog. As a new user of WordPress.com, I thought it would be clearer how I could manage my site.
I don’t want someone to fix it. I wanted to know how I fix it.
I’m letting it be for now and just using one of the sites, blogs, pages or however we refer to it. But really, thanks. Couldn’t get any other feedback at all.

I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now knowing what follows.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ And, about 30% of those who post to this support forum some days are in fact posting about blogs that are not hosted by WordPress.COM.

Thank you so much for your reply. I had no idea there were two similar WordPress entities. I had, in fact, only been dealing with a blog through WordPress.com. I appreciate the info you shared. I think I’m ok for now.

yamanakabill2014 – This thread was tagged for staff. Do you still need help?
Just as a heads up, its helpful to include your site URL so that staff and volunteers can look at your site and get a better understanding of what you’re seeing. We always explain how to make a fix rather than doing it for a person, and none of the volunteers have the ability to change other users sites.
Let us know if you have other questions! :)

Thank you all for your prompt replies and readiness to assist. I am good for now. A reason I didn’t feel comfortable giving out my site URL is the preponderance of hacker activity out there. I didn’t have anything on my site; not even a blog entry at that time. There wasn’t anything to “see” so no one else needs to have that back-end info. I just had two sites and I only wanted one. Seemed to me I should be able to delete one. That’s all I was asking. I’ll just leave it be for now and only work from one.

We need that URL if we are to help you. If you don’t feel comfortable identifying the site that needs technical help, our technical helpers will be unable to assist you.

Thanks for the clarification. In general, a link to your site won’t provoke hacking activity. But its always good to be cautious if you’re concerned.
Here are some steps to delete a site:

Goodness! That’s perfect. The information in that link is all I wanted in the first place so thank you very much. I had no content, no posts, no entries, just a duplicative site. I only wanted one. You just gave me the answer I sought in my first question.

I’m happy to help. Sorry for the long thread to get you there.
Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
