Delete "RECENT POSTS" heading

Can anyone give me the code to remove the heading “RECENT POSTS” from my page.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Recent Post is a widget
Go to dashboard > widget > and remove it.

Thanks supernu… but that didn’t solve it. It just seems to a stray heading in tiny type. I removed the widget in Dashboard, the heading is still there! Puzzling!

You’re welcome. I’m assuming you checked there are no other widgets as well?
I can still see it in the page source
<section class="recent-posts">
<h1 class="showcase-heading">Recent Posts</h1></section><!-- .recent-posts -->
<div class="widget-area" role="complementary">
</div><!-- .widget-area --

I think that’s a bug. Staff have been tinkering with themes and that shouldn’t be showing up. I’ll flag this for their attention

It’s in a part of the code you can’t reach. Someone on a different theme had a similar problem, where the Uncategorized category was showing up in his static About page.
-
It’s not a widget and it’s not a bug. You’re using the “showcase” template for your front page. The showcase template is supposed to display various elements including your recent posts. I could give you the CSS to hide the heading, but since you aren’t taking advantage of any of the special features of the showcase template, the reasonable solution is simply edit the page and select the no-sidebar template.
For details on the theme see this post of mine:

Thanks heaps for all your help. The friend I am doing this site for want a simple, static site, info only… no posts. Am I using the correct theme?… but I think this is a little bug, having removed the widget, the heading should not display.

foxy, you don’t need code. Go to the Dashboard Theme Options and just choose the No Sidebar option.
-
Thanks rain, I did that… I get a skinny page (which I don’t want) and it’s still there!!! Have a look!

Okay, you have the CSS upgrade. I’ll flag this to be moved to the CSS forum and someone can give you the code to hide ANYTHING there.

@rain:
The URL says duster but the title says “Twenty Eleven / Duster”. The post was written when Duster was launched, and it was updated when 2011 was launched: 2011 is just Duster v.2.@foxyoz525:

Okay, but the OP Did select that template and now thinks the display is too narrow. So, since it’s customized, how about some code to widen it?
