Delete Site

  For some reason I can’t delete the site – it says I have to cancel upgraded associated with it – I don’t have any upgrades but I did have a one time payment for my theme – that’s it. Can you please tell me how I can delete it? Thanks

  Hi,

  If you go to your Purchases Page, you will be able to remove any upgrades from your account. Just know that if you delete your site, please know that it is permanent, and you won’t be able re-use it’s .WordPress.com address ever again!

  Thank you, it seems I have to go through the link you provided as I can’t delete it under “Purchases” – I will try it through “Settings.”

  I just want to confirm one thing. I’ve built a new site using the Avada Theme which is separate from my old turbidlakepictures.wordpress.com. Deleting the latter won’t affect my current, new site right?

  Tried to see where the Settings would take me but it takes me back to “Manage Purchases” where I see the Premium Theme but no options of deleting it. All it says is tue theme “never expires” and a tab for Billing History.

  From what I can find, it appears that there maybe a bug when trying to delete a site with a Premium Theme. I’ll add the “modlook” tag to the sidebar so WordPress.com staff can take a look at this for you.

  Hi there,

  I can remove the Swell theme for you. Keep in mind that once I do that, should you ever want to use the theme again, you’ll need to buy it again. Can you please confirm that you’re sure you want to cancel it?

  Hi,
  I don’t know about removing Swell, but I want to delete the website. Not sure if the two need to go hand in hand.

  However, I just need to make sure that nothing on my new Avada site is looking linked to this old one before I permanently delete it.

  The sites are in two completely separate accounts, so there is no link between them.

  To delete the site in this account, http://turbidlakepictures.wordpress.com/, you will need to cancel Swell, so if you’re sure I’m happy to do that for you.

  Done. You should now be able to delete your site under My Site ->Settings.
