Delete Site
-
I don’t have a link to tools on my dashboard. Consequently, I cannot delete the training site I have on your server. I now have a self-hosted site and need to delete the WordPress.com site.
Thanks

Hello there,
As a first step please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access. Then you can take the second step and can delete the blog. To delete a free hosted WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Alternatively, to change blog visibility to private so you can use the unwanted blog for testing and or as a backup blog go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ Then see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

Hello,
I’ve recovered the blog, but I’m having difficulty executing any of your suggestions—I can’t get to my dashboard. When I could, I was not able to access the necessary links to delete/hide the site.Thank you.

Hi there!
The dashboard for that site is here:
https://themimisims.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
In order to administrate that site, you’ll need to be logged into the administrator account, which is different from the one you’re using currently (busterdawg).
Let me know if I can help further!

Thank you for your guidance! I have a new difficulty: when I click on the link for the dashboard I am redirected to an add for the sale of a domain related to my business. The domain that the dashboard link takes me to is:
http://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=dogwalkingpetsitting&e=com
Any insights would be appreciated.

That should not be happening. Can you check if you have any extensions installed? Have you seen any other weird links lately?
-
That’s an ad that’s being placed there by software on your own computer, unfortunately. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar or adware that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, jimmacskitchen.com is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/
