Delete Site Option Not Listed

Hello,
I created a site just days ago at wordpress.com, but then realized I wanted to self-host. The site I opened on wordpress.com has no content and I won’t be using it. But I like things to be neat and tidy, so I was hoping to get it removed from my list of sites.When I got to Dashboard > Tools… the “Delete Site” option isn’t there. I’ve checked, and I am an Administrator for the site, so I should be able to “take it down” one way or another…
Please let me know how I can go about this. Thank you!

I am having the same issue. I followed the WordPress interstructions and my domain upgrade is now expired but I cannot delete the site as the ‘delete site’ options are not listed or available to exercise.
My site was catcharisma.com (now catcharisma.wordpress.com) after domain expired.
Is there a technical issue with wordpress today? Maybe this is why it is not able to be accessed.

That is very strange. The “delete site” option is showing up on my blogs so it doesn’t seem to be a universal. If you checked to be sure you are an administrator (and it sounds like you have) the link should show up. I’m going to tag this thread for staff assistance. Another volunteer my come by in the meantime to have you try something I’ve not thought of, but otherwise, a staff member will help you as soon as they get to the thread. Usually that doesn’t happen over the weekend, but I promise your question with not be forgotten.

I’d be happy to assist you in deleting your blogs, but please bear in mind that this process may not be reversed and does not free up a blog address for future use.
Would you like your domain canceled as well? Please understand that deleting a domain is also irreversible and may mean you can never get it back.

For six years, I have enjoyed having a blog about cats for using wordpress. Although, writing about cats is a very difficult topic and many prefer dogs. So, I will retire the weblog and my cats will probably enjoy the tranquility of not having a camera in their face everyday.

“Delete Site – Warning! You cannot delete a site if it has a domain registration upgrade because you need access to the site in order to get to the domain manager.”Could you please help me? I want to cancel everything.

I’m happy to cancel the domain from your account so you can delete your site. However, I’d just like to confirm that you no longer want the domain rykteflommen.org. Is that correct?
Please note, once a domain is cancelled, it is sent back to the registrar. It may or may not become available for purchase again in the future.
