Delete the date part in the url
-
Hi,
I would really like to remove the date part in the url. Is that possible? Now the url is http://travellinn.net/2015/03/01/the-ancient-city-of-polonnaruwa/, but I would like it to be just http://travellinn.net/the-ancient-city-of-polonnaruwa/.
Please advice.

Unfortunately the date part of the url ( aka Permalink) is not editable on WordPress.com so we have to live with it.

But if I add a new page (like About), it comes without the date. I know these are two different things, but as it is possible there, should it not be possible for the posts as well?
I am obviously not an expert, so just a thought. -
Yeah, post and page are different things. The URL for a post includes the date the post was published.
Please check this support document to understand the difference between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
No worries, your question is valid :-)
