I used one of of my own photos for the header to replace the misty lake theme. it worked fine. The misty lake picture was replaced by own, but on the bottom of the page(s) it still reads . . . blog at wordpress.com theme misty lake by automatic. I need to eliminate that text.

You did not design the theme and you are not hosting the blog. Removing credits implies the opposite and it’s not allowed.
May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questionsYou can place a copyright license in a text widget in your sidebar.

I guess I didn’t make myself clear. I originally used the Misty Lake Theme as the header, but I removed it and replaced the header with one of my ‘own’ pictures. Thus, the Misty Lake Theme is ‘not’, being used. However, blog at wordpress.com theme misty lake by automatic, remains on my own background photo. I need to remove that text because it implies taking credit for my photography.
