You can delete a site following this guide as this is not something we can do for you: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
If you don’t have access to the account which owns the site, we have some options for you: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
I hope that clarifies things!

Thanks. This does not work. The delete site button just refers me the fact there are paid upgrades for the site. In terms of the second option I have access to my WordPress account. There are 3 administrators for Bramcote Today of which I am one. However the upgrades are paid for by one of the other administrators. Is this where the problem lies?
I have other WordPress sites and these will remain. -
Hi there,
That is correct. It appears that another admin on the site has added the upgrade that is giving your site a custom address, and it cannot be deleted until those upgrades are cancelled. Please ask Mike to do that here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
Note, you will not see upgrades on that page since they are not under your account, but the admin that did purchase the upgrades will see them and be able to cancel. From there you can delete the site by following the steps provided above.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Mike has cancelled the automatic renewal and ticked the box that that they will not be renewed when they expire. It does not seem possible to cancel them in any way. How do we proceed?

Yes, I can confirm that is what they did. But doing so does not cancel the upgrade; it just sets the upgrade to not renew and will complete its full plan term.
To cancel the upgrades immediately, he will need to go to his account purchases page, select the domain connection upgrade, and on the next page, choose “Remove Subscription”. He would then need to repeat that same process for the “No Ads” upgrade.
Once those upgrades have been fully cancelled, then the option to delete the site would be available.
I hope that clarifies things!
