delete url from google search

    It as come to my attention parents do not want a roster posted on our blog. I have permanently deleted this from our blog as well as in my media, yet it still appears when I google the item. How do I permanently remove this url? I am a novice, so please tell me step by step how to do this. Thanks!

    You need to get a google webmaster account. and then verify your blog through Google. Once that is done, you can then use their URL removal tool and request they remove that URL. It can take 3 to 6 weeks for the URL to disappear. This will get you started on verifying the blog.

    You will also have to verify with Bing and Yahoo, and then do the removal through them also. Those are the three biggies, but there are a handful of lesser search engines that will likely have it as well. I have no idea how to remove it from those, or even the names of all of them.

    Also all the contact information on the “Welcome” page has been slurped up by Google and others. Many people are cautious about having information in the clear. All those email’s will get more spam.

    There is a contact form that you can build into the site that allows people to contact your team but keeps your personal information private. Something to think about – because of some groups I belong to which requires a phone number on a web site to contact me I get some strange calls at times.

    The Cached roster I don’t know, others here more knowledge than I on that.
