Delete Website

  I would like to delete my website to start on a new one from scratch without having to manually erase everything on the website. I can’t seem to delete much on it, so I might as well delete it and start anew.

  Hi there,

  I see your site at mexicanspanishschool.wpcomstaging.com used to be on our Business Plan where you had plugins or a custom theme installed. That’s why you can’t delete it, but it’s also why you’re struggling to empty it, as it won’t work properly without the plan active.

  Before you can delete that site, we’ll first need to properly downgrade it back to the free plan. This will remove all plugins and third party themes you still have installed, and there is also a risk that any content you added since you first installed plugins may be lost during this process.

  Even if you plan to empty/delete the site, please confirm that you understand this if you want us to proceed with this process.

  Once we’ve reverted the site, we can also empty out any remaining content for you if you prefer. This process is completely irreversible, and will remove all posts, pages, comments and media files from the site. So please confirm if you understand this and would like us to proceed with completely emptying out the site as well.

  If you’re just going to delete it entirely, we won’t need to empty it first, so this second part is only if you’d prefer to still keep the address :)

  Thanks for confirming. I’ve reverted that site back to the free plan, and you’ll now be able to delete it at Settings ->General in the dashboard.
