Delete Website

  I am trying to delete my website. The system is not allowing me to do so because I have an upgrade on the website, which is the MH Magazine theme. The purchase of the MH Magazine theme is a permanent purchase. I am not able to delete it. Can you please advise how to delete the website? I also want to delete my WordPress account.

  You own premium themes that you purchased indefinitely.

  You have three options:
  1. Make the site private so you can use the premium theme if you change your mind in the future. https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  2. Have Staff transfer the premium theme to another site of yours registered under the same username account.

  3. Have Staff remove the theme knowing you will not be able to use it in the future.

  @phtbnys I recommend making the site private instead, but if you don’t mind permanently losing the theme, as well as the address of the site, I can remove it for you.

  Please do keep in mind, if you want to start the site again, you will not be able to use the same address.

  Can you confirm what you’d like to do?

  Thank you for your replies. If the theme was to be removed, would it be possible to then delete my WordPress account so that all comments I have made on other blogs disappear? Your answer to this question will influence my decision on whether to keep the theme.

  Know that deactivating your account will not result in the comments you made on other sites being removed. They will still be there unless the owners of the sites delete them.

  You’re welcome. Do you have another site to use the theme on? Or are you planning to keep it on your private site?

  How did you get the theme? Via a downloaded file?
  If so, then your theme is safe, and you can delete your site.
  The theme can be used for some future website.

  If you didn’t download a file for your theme, from the website where you bought the theme, then you probably purchased and installed the theme from inside your wordpress admin panel. You should still be able to go to the website that created the theme, and download the theme file. Probably in .zip format.

  @romeox7 — we don’t provide the option to download a copy of premium themes purchased from WordPress.com.

  @phtbnys — if you decide you want to use helenmariegrantx.wordpress.com again in the future, you can reactivate the theme and mark the site public. There are no other sites listed in your account so it’s fine for the theme to remain on that site.
