Delete widget from homepage
-
Hello!
On my homepage – https://journal.surfersmedicalassociation.org/season/fall-2022/ – I have a table of contents on the left. No matter what I do, I have 2 table of contents but I want to display only 1. I’ve checked the appearance > widget area but I can’t find a way to do it.I’m hoping something can point me in the right direction.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
If the widget that you want to remove is a block, then how to remove it is described in the Remove a Widget section of the Widgets support page.
If it’s a legacy widget, then the option to delete the widget is found in the visibility settings, as can be seen in the illustration in the Visibility Settings subsection of the Widget Visiblity section of the same support page.
Let us know if that resolves the issue, or if you need additional assistance.

Other options include the following:
- hiding the widget on that page and wherever else you don’t want it shown, as described in the Widget Visibility section of the Widgets support page
- and moving the widget to the inactive widgets area — see Moving Blocks Between Widget Areas (I’m not sure how to move a legacy widget to inactive anymore).

I have several widgets placed in the sidebar. I’m using each widget as a table of contents for issues of a magazine. So, I don’t want to delete any widgets. But, I want widgets to appear only when that particular magazine issue is displayed.
For example, if Fall 2022 is displayed, the table of contents (navigation) for both the 2022 issue AND 2021 issue are displayed. There should be only 1 widget displayed at a time.
I use the ‘target URL’ feature within the widget to configure it so it should display only when a particular issue is displayed.
I’m so confused.
