Delete WordPress.com Account, Please
-
I’d like to delete my wordpress.com account completely, please.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I’m sorry to hear you want to leave WordPress.com. Is there anything you may need help with before you go?
WordPress.com accounts are permanent, and you can find more information about that here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
You can easily delete your site by following the instructions listed below:
If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to Account Settings â Notifications.
2. Check “Block all email updates from blogs youâre following on WordPress.com”, and click Save Changes. -
-
Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see this link below:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
Here’s a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:
1) Delete the blog:
2) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block Emails”:
https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/
3) You can also go here to remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind:
https://wordpress.com/settings/
4) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html
5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:
http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you
You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

I’m not able to delete the blogs as I never get the confirmation email. I have checked the email assigned to my account and it is correct.

Is this the one you are trying to delete?
safetycopy.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.
-
I’m not sure that one exists any more. There are two blogs listed on my “Manage Blogs” dash – “The Efficient Twinker” and “8b.P” – those are the two I’d like to get rid of (along with everything else).
-
The 8bit one is a self hosted jetpack connected WordPress site. So you need to use this tool to remove it from your “my blogs” list:
-
I can help you delete theefficienttwinker if you like.
First off, please confirm that you understand that this is a permanent decision. Once done, both the site’s data and the URL will be permanently unavailable to you or anyone else.
Please confirm and I will delete theefficienttwinker.
-
I confirm that I’d like you to go ahead and delete that, please.
I will take a look at the jetpack blog and see what I can do.
Thanks.

Thanks for that.
I’ve been trying to get rid of 8b.P but am having no luck. It pointed to a WordPress blog I had elsewhere, but I no longer have that account and so cannot log into the blog’s dashboard. As it stands, the blog exists nowhere other than under my sites. How do I get rid of this?
I also can’t seem to disconnect Jetpack from 8b.P. When I try, it acts as if it worked, but when I go back to manage my blogs, there it is again.
