Delete wordpress.com site linked to self-hosted site

    Hi,

I’m looking to delete the farout1.wordpress.com site as we’ve moved to a self-hosted installation at faroutmagazine.co.uk

We do use some of the Jetpack features which are linked with the wordpress.com site – is it possible to delete/remove the wordpress.com site and keep these features (email subscription, site stats) in tact? Or is there another way around things?

    Thanks!
    Ross

    Hi Ross,

Your Jetpack features actually work because Jetpack is connected to your WordPress.com account — you don’t need your farout1.wordpress.com site to keep those Jetpack features working. Deleting the WordPress.com site will delete all of the content specific to that WordPress.com site, but it won’t impact anything that you see on your self-hosted Jetpack site.

If you want to permanently delete the WordPress.com site, you can follow this guide to delete it: Delete Site

If you want to keep the WordPress.com site around but just hide it from visitors and search engines, you can change the site’s privacy settings as explained here: Privacy Settings

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
