Deleted a blog and can't make a new one under same address

  Hi,

  I’m making a blog for someone else and by mistake made it under my old account. I deleted the blog then, and I’m trying to register anew now, with this person’s email address, but it won’t let me. It says the blog address is already taken. Will this expire after 24 hrs, given the fact it IS deleted? Is there anything I can do besides registering a .com address and paying for it? :/

  Hello!

  Take a look at this post: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Once a blog has been deleted, its related address is no longer available to use. Just to quote:

  Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was owned and deleted by its original/previous owner.

  If there’s any way you can think of a new, original address to restart your blog with, or a small variation on the name you were going to use originally, that’s probably the best option. Hope that helps :)

  So this page https://d12familycentre.wordpress.com/ is just going to stay like that on the web? That’s ridiculous. :/ Is there anyway I can bring it back then? Anything? I wouldn’t make such a fuss about it but the person I’m doing this for really wants that address.

  As far as the guidelines state, yes. I’ll tag this for staff attention just in case there’s any chance they might be able to offer another option, but as the topic states, once a blog is deleted the related address can’t be used again.

  Gone is gone forever – I have been helping in the forum for a long time and have yet to see a deleted domain come back – there were several warnings about deleting being permanent and you agreed to those terms

  FYI – the domain name could have been easily transferred to another account
