Deleted a new blog domain by accident

  • Unknown's avatar

I tried to set up the blog:

“iansadventuresinspace.wordpress.com”, but I accidentally set up:

“iansadventureesinspace.wordpress.com” instead, so I deleted it.

But I think I may have deleted the original one too somehow, because when I go to the original domain in a browser window, it says that the authors have deleted the site. So unless someone else had previous set that domain up and then deleted it (highly unlikely), then it must have been me. I note that the WordPress help pages say that if you can get permission from the previous blog author to transfer the domain to you then they can do that, so if it was me who deleted it, then surely I should be able to get it back?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,
unfortunately it happened to me too.
I created a blog einheitsweg.wordpress.com outside of my blog management.
So I thought to delete it and recreate it within my management -> now the management site tells me “not available” or “already exists”, but
    “einheitsweg.wordpress.com” is no longer available.
Yes, I read the instructions and was aware that I deleted the blog completely, but I did not be aware that the name is blocked for ever.

Is there a way to correct this, or to release the name, so I can create it again ?

Thanks for every kind of help.
    Ciao
    Mike

Oh no! You ignored and it’s too late now. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and it must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click. Once the verification link for deletion is clicked the blog URL is forever gone, gone, gone.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

    Thanks for the reply,
I am not worried about the content- may it vanish for ever, I don´t mind.

I just want to to get the name back to be registered…
That seems to be impossible too – right ?

    Ciao
