Deleted Account

    Hi, I discovered recently that my account appears to have been deleted as of Dec 1. I originally thought it was hacking, but with the month change over that seems more likely to be an administrative issue. I have had a site on wordpress for the past four years and my renewal isn’t until next month. I still have access to my hosting site and all of that information, but can no longer access my wordpress account. I attempt to login and reset my password, but when I submit the email I used, it states that there is no such account registered with that email.

    I have full backups of everything. I would love some help in restoring my account.

    Hi there,

    Of what account are you speaking? And what is the URL of the site/sites you owned in that account?

    Deleting a WordPress.com account can only be done by someone who is logged in as that account, and it’s impossible to delete an account that owns any WordPress.com sites with active upgrades.

    You are posting here as the WordPress.com username account, amy9843, but this account was created only half an hour ago, doesn’t own any sites with us, and hasn’t bought any upgrades from us.

    Hello,

    Yes I just created this account so that I could ask this question as I could find no other way of contacting WordPress directly.

    The website was amypletz.com. I never deleted the account. But now when I got to the URL it asks me to select a language and then create a new account, etc. When just a month ago I had my site up and running. I can’t even login to that account as it states that there is no such email in the system.

    As I stated before, I have been with WordPress for the last 4 years coming this January/February and never had any issues and now as of Dec. 1 my site is nowhere to be found. I had it backing up every week and the last time it did so was about 11:58PM Nov. 29.

    Your site was not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It was using the open-source WordPress.org software and it was hosted by NameCheap. Therefore, you need to contact them regarding your issue.

    Now that you say that, I do realize that it was .org. I’ve been so frustrated trying to figure out what happened that I was thinking it was .com.
