Deleted account, but username keeps popping up on
-
Hi guys.
A few months ago I deleted my account and thought that deleting it would also delete my website. It didn’t but I didn’t mind. Turns out that if I google my username (which is always the same for everything) this site turns up (awful people I used to work for) and I really need not to be related to this brand in any way.
Is there anything you can do? I have access to the e-mail, of course, the one linked to the deleted account.
Thanks very much :) -
Hi supermodelthick,
deleting it would also delete my website. It didn’t but I didn’t mind.
Closing an account should also delete any WordPress.com sites it owns. What is the address of the site you wanted to delete? If you let me know, I can look into why that didn’t happen.
Thanks!

Hi Gemma.
Here you go: https://loscardones.wordpress.com/ That’s the site that pops up when I google my username. -
You may have attempted to close an account ([redacted] ? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/%5Bredacted%5D/) but you haven’t deleted the site and it is still up and available for anyone to visit.
-
Can you log out and log in as user [redacted], then delete the site?
Or, what username are you referring to?
-
Hi guys. [redacted] is not my username, [redacted] is. Actually, was.
(By the way, is this public? All the username stuff. Can I delete this post later?)
If I can’t delete the forum because I am not the only user, is there anyway to prevent this site from popping up evey time someone searches my username on Google?
I used to be the only person running the site, the other guy, [redacted], hasn’t logged in for years. He actually doesn’t work for them anymore. -
Hi supermodelthick,
Your [redacted] account was a user on loscardones.wordpress.com. When I search for that username, I’m seeing an author page listing the posts that account has written. Is this what you are referring to?
I used to be the only person running the site, the other guy, [redacted], hasn’t logged in for years.
[redacted] owns loscardones.wordpress.com and WordPress.com sites can only be deleted by the owner. I can see your [redacted] account was listed as a site user but [redacted] removed you from there some time ago.
is there anyway to prevent this site from popping up evey time someone searches my username on Google?
We don’t have any control over search engines results so cannot remove information listed there — this is something you would need to contact Google for help with.
All the username stuff. Can I delete this post later?
We can only remove threads that represent a valid personal safety or security concern (see our community standards) however, I can remove the usernames if that would help?
-
Yes, I’m referring to that page exactly :)
And also yes, removing the usernames would really help. Thank you so much. -

Regarding getting taken off the site, if the site owner will reach out to us we can help them attribute the posts to another user. Perhaps you could reach out to them and have them get in touch?
-
I never met rulo and have no idea how to contact him. I never worked directly with him. It was said to me that the only job he had had was to make the website and that was it.
My account appears at the https://loscardones.wordpress.com/ link that pops up on Google (when you google my username), but when you click it, my username does not appear in there anywhere. Where it is supposed to be it says [Closed account]. So really the problem is that the link from the site keeps appearing (when you google my username), even though when you click it there is no clue at all about my username. -

Hi @supermodelthick, not sure how we missed your reply earlier.
I think we’ve found a solution. Please allow a few days for that to take effect.
